Published on

“We’re challenging hackers to help us shape the future of autonomous vehicles by inventing innovative onboard and offboard services that will contribute to bring new experiences to customers and cars.”

For the 1st time ever, Groupe Renault will be part of Viva Technology (VivaTech), the world’s rendezvous for startups and leaders to celebrate innovation (May 24th-26th – Paris, Porte de Versailles). 8,000 startups and 80,000 people will attend.

During the event, Groupe Renault will organize a hackathon* for autonomous vehicles, in partnership with TechCrunch, a leading tech media publication worldwide.

Raising awareness of tomorrow’s mobility challenges

« A hackathon like the one organized by TechCrunch is perfectly in line with the Group’s strategy on open innovation »  explains Benoit Joly, Director of the Connected Car and New Mobility Sales Range « It makes it possible to raise awareness among talented and highly motivated hackers of our challenges around autonomous car and connected services ».

For 24hrs, from Friday May 25th till Saturday May 26th, programmers, web designers, and UX experts will work on the specific topic of autonomous vehicles.

At the end, each team will have only 1 minute to show its project to a jury composed by experts from Groupe Renault. The winning team will be rewarded with a 5,000 € prize and Groupe Renault could find a potential for innovative ideas for the Group.

The presentation of the projects will be livestreamed on the TechCrunch website.
