Born in 1975, Laurent Rossi is a graduate of the ENSEEIHT engineering school with a Master’s in mechanical and fluid engineering and of the IFP School / ENSPM (Master’s in mechanical combustion engineering).

His career began in 2000 at Renault, in the mechanical division. Based at the Lardy technical center, he developed gasoline powertrain units (K-F atmo/turbo, V6, etc.) for Renault and the Alliance.

In 2009, after graduating with an MBA from Harvard Business School, he joined the Boston Consulting Group, where he worked in the New York office. As an automotive expert, he acted as a consultant on a number of strategic and operational assignments, working with major global automakers and parts suppliers. He covered the entire value chain from design to sales, including Powertrain strategy, manufacturing and supply chain.

In 2012, he moved to Google, taking charge of the development of commercial relations with major automotive industry companies, firstly in Paris for the Europe region, then in New York for the Americas region and then as head of Auto global practice.

He returns to Renault in February 2018 and after a short period heading the Organization Department, he is appointed on 1 April 2018, VP, Corporate Strategy and Business Development.

In April 2019, Laurent Rossi is named SVP, Corporate Strategy & Business Development, Renault Group.

On January 11, 2021, Laurent Rossi is appointed CEO Alpine Racing SAS & Chairman Alpine Racing Ltd. He reports to Luca De Meo, CEO, Renault Group. He is a member of Renault Group Corporate Management Committee.

As of February 1, 2023, he becomes a member of the Leadership Team, which replaces the Board of Management (BOM) and the Corporate Management Committee (CMC). This new single management body’s mission will be to ensure the strategic and operational management of Renault Group activities.
