24 July first place "1st Rallye de Dieppe" in a 4CV (ahead of the more powerful Peugeot 203 and other Salmson)

  • 4th in the XXI Monte Carlo Rally on a "1063" with the "special race" version of the 4CV 
  • 1st in the Dieppe Rally 
  • 5th in the Rallye du Dauphiné 
  • 3rd in the Marathon de la Route between Liège, Rome and Liège
  • 3rd in the Tour de France automobile 
  • 1st in the Tour of Belgium

  • Class leader on Sunday at 1pm in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, still in a 4CV (then abandoned 2 hours before the finish)
  • 3rd in the general classification of the Tour de France Automobile (an achievement considering the relative modesty of his car)

It was the "Rédélé Spéciale" driven by Jean-Claude Galtier that won the "Mille Miglia". 

Ironically, Jean Rédélé came second with a car other than his own: the Coach.
