Le Mans Plant

The Le Mans industrial site is dedicated to the conception and development of ground linkage systems for the entire Renault Group. Its plant manufactures chassis components for thermic, hybrid and electric vehicles of the Renault, Dacia and partner brands.

The Le Mans site reduces CO2 emissions from its production activities by favouring internal recycling of waste materials. Preserving natural resources is a priority, with work on water recycling, energy recovery and waste management.

The dynamic qualities of the vehicles of the Group’s brands benefit from the expertise of the Le Mans site in terms of chassis and suspension, and contribute to the recognised success of flagship electric models such as the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric and the Alpine A290, which won the Coty 2025 Prize.

Our history

Back to the key dates

  • 1920: The first buildings and activities start up at the Le Mans site
  • 1955: The site begins to specialise in the production of chassis components
  • 1999: The Auto Châssis International structure, bringing together engineering, manufacturing and marketing resources for chassis components, is created to diversify the customer portfolio.
  • 2006: The site returns to 100% Renault Group ownership to focus on projects for its brands.
  • 2008 : The foundry benefits from new automated facilities to boost its competitiveness
  • 2015: An investment of over €10 million is made to modernise the lines and automate workflows
  • 2020: The site celebrates its 100th anniversary
  • 2022: The ISO 50001 energy certification process is launched and obtained
  • 2024: The plant manufactures components for Alpine for the first time, with the A290.
