Mioveni Plant (DACIA)

Inaugurated in 1968 and integrated into Renault Group in 1999, the Mioveni Plant is the historic manufacturing site of the Dacia brand. Over the years, it has developed into a benchmark industrial complex comprising vehicle body and assembly operations, a chassis production unit, and a logistics platform serving Renault Group. More than 88% of the vehicles manufactured at the site are exported to international markets.

Environment

Dacia’s manufacturing operations at Mioveni fully comply with environmental regulations and Renault Group environmental standards. Vehicles are designed with circularity principles in mind, allowing up to 95% of their components to be recycled at the end of their life cycle.

The Mioveni Plant continuously focuses on strengthening competitiveness, ensuring product excellence and delivering vehicles that meet the highest customer expectations.

The plant is organized into five production departments: Stamping, Body Shop, Chassis, Paint Shop and General Assembly. Manufacturing operations are managed according to Renault Group’s Industrial Excellence System IES, which aims to achieve seamless customer-focused synchronization across all stages of the production process.

In 2025, the Mioveni plant launches the production of the Bigster.

Dacia (the leading brand in the B‑segment in Europe) is expanding its lineup by moving into the upper segment. This strategic push becomes a reality today with the launch of the Bigster, which brings the brand’s well‑known values to the compact SUV segment: essential yet stylish, eco‑responsible, robust, and outdoor‑oriented. The new Dacia Bigster will be produced exclusively at the Mioveni plant.

Dacia Bigster is designed to meet the specific expectations of customers in a continuously growing market segment. With the new Bigster, Dacia stays true to its values by offering the best value for money in the compact SUV segment.

1968: Creation of the Dacia brand and inauguration of the Mioveni Plant in August.
Production of the first Renault 8 under the name Dacia 1100 begins.
1969: Production of the Dacia 1300 saloon (derived from the Renault 12) begins.
1973: Production of the Dacia 1300 Estate begins.
1975: Production of the Dacia 1302 light pick-up begins.
1983: Production of the Dacia 1304 Pick-Up begins.
1990: Production of the Dacia 1325 Liberta five-door model begins.

1995: Launch of Dacia Nova, the first model entirely designed and developed in Romania.

2002: Production of the diesel-powered Dacia Pick-Up range begins.
2003: Launch of Dacia Solenza.
2004: Dacia Logan is unveiled on June 2.
2006: Launch of Logan MCV.
2008: Launch of Sandero.
2009: Launch of Sandero Stepway.
2010: Dacia Duster is unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.
The one-millionth Logan is produced.
2014: Dacia celebrates 15 years within Renault Group and 10 years of Logan production in Romania.
2016: Production of the Logan 2, Logan MCV 2, Sandero 2 and Sandero Stepway 2 ranges.
2017: Production of Logan MCV Stepway and Duster 2 begins.
2018: Dacia and the Mioveni Plant celebrate their 50th anniversary.
2020: Five million vehicles have been produced at Mioveni since Dacia joined Renault Group. The new Logan 3, Sandero 3 and Sandero Stepway 3 are launched.
2022: Launch of Jogger.
2023: Launch of Jogger Hybrid, the first hybrid vehicle manufactured in Mioveni, and of the all-new Duster.
2024: Launch of Bigster.
2025: A quarter of a million Jogger vehicles have been produced at the Mioveni Plant since the model's launch.
2025: The Mioveni Plant reaches a cumulative production milestone of 8 million Dacia vehicles.
2026: The 100,000th Bigster is produced at the Mioveni Plant.
