The final episode of our series dedicated to the Alpine’s 70th anniversary, draws parallels between the brand’s roots and the beginning of a new era through its range.

The Alpine A290 Rallye and the Renault 5 Alpine Group 2

The new Alpine range – Agile and Sporty

Pierre Gasly may be a Formula 1 driver, but he also drives on public roads like any other motorist. He explains why he was won over by the Alpine A390 and electric mobility. He’s even open to the idea of taking part in a rally in an electric competition car. Which is good news since Alpine has just released an A290 Rallye! Following in the footsteps started by the R5 Alpine Group 2, which delighted many private competitors in the late 1970s, this A290 Rallye is the first project developed by Hypertech Alpine, its new engineering center in Viry-Chatillon. Axel Plasse, VP Hypertech Alpine, talks passionately about this new release.

“When I drive a road car, my expectations are focused on comfort. But as I’m a racing driver, I want to feel similar sensations to racing. I want precision as well as a car that looks good.”

A110 R Ultime, the first model from the Special Projects pillar

Even though Alpine is branching out into new segments, it hasn't forgotten its flagship model and the combustion engine. In the final installment of our series, the new Alpine A110 R Ultime rubs shoulders with the final ‘berlinette’ produced, which rolled off the production line in 1977, as if to highlight how it embodies the values created by the brand’s founder, Jean Rédélé. Philippe Krief, Chief Executive Officer of Alpine, presents the final incarnation of the iconic Alpine A110, launched in 2017, and hints at exciting news about the third generation to be announced in 2026.

Philippe Krief

“With the Alpine A110 R Ultime, we wanted to create a grand finale, worthy of the second generation A110.”
