With Renault Boreal, Renault takes a new step in its global development strategy. This C-segment SUV, designed exclusively for markets outside Europe, embodies the brand’s ambition to strengthen its international presence as part of its Renault International Game Plan 2024–2027. Produced in Brazil and Turkey, Boreal is fully aligned with the DNA of Renault’s new models, following in the footsteps of the brand’s global icons such as the Renault 4, Renault 5 and Clio.
An SUV built for the international markets
Designed by and for the global stage, Renault Boreal is the result of a strategy aimed at conquering international markets. Developed on Renault Group’s new ultra-flexible modular platform, this SUV is intended for 71 countries outside Europe, with production based in Curitiba (Brazil) for Latin America and in Bursa (Turkey) for Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the Mediterranean basin.

« More than just a new model, Renault Boreal embodies our international ambition. Designed to meet the expectations of the most demanding customers, it will be produced in Curitiba and then in Bursa. As the fourth launch under the Renault International Game Plan, Boreal marks a new step in our move upmarket and strengthens our commercial offensive in the C-segment. »

This industrial choice across two continents is no coincidence. It allows Renault to reduce logistical lead times, optimize production costs, and, most importantly, finely tailor its offering to local expectations. From its bold design and onboard technologies to its refined and connected interior, everything has been designed to appeal to customers seeking modernity, comfort, robustness and technology.
Measuring 4.56 meters in length, with a sculpted and expressive silhouette, balanced proportions, a unique lighting signature and a spacious, tech-focused interior, Renault Boreal represents a new generation of vehicles, elegant, technologically advanced and perfectly suited to everyday use.
The Renault International Game Plan 2024–2027: a bold and structured strategy
Renault Boreal is much more than a new model: it is the most global vehicle ever designed by Renault. It is part of a comprehensive strategic plan called the Renault International Game Plan 2024–2027. This plan aims to rebalance Renault’s sales between Europe and the rest of the world by focusing on the most promising segments, particularly C- and D-segment SUVs.

« In October 2023, we unveiled our plan to strengthen Renault’s global footprint: the Renault International Game Plan. By leveraging five strategic hubs (in Latin America, North Africa, Turkey, India and South Korea), we are investing €3 billion to launch eight new vehicles outside Europe, with a clear ambition: to double our revenue per vehicle. And we are taking action!
Driven by the commercial success of Kardian and Koleos, our sales outside Europe grew by 16.4% in the first half of 2025.
I am proud to announce a new chapter in this journey: Renault Boreal, a true symbol of our ambition to rise in quality and innovation on a global scale, delivering greater value to our customers outside Europe and reinforcing our move upmarket. »

A connected, refined and family-friendly vehicle
In Latin America, Renault Boreal meets a growing demand for modern family SUVs. In Turkey, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean basin, it strengthens an already dynamic lineup in regions where more than one in every two vehicles sold is an SUV. With its latest-generation combustion engine, dual-clutch EDC transmission, 24 driving assistance systems and an optimal connected experience, Boreal stands out as a conquest vehicle, built to last.
In the footsteps of Renault’s global icons
Renault’s history is marked by models that have left a lasting impression on roads around the world. The Renault 4, launched in 1961, sold over 8 million units in more than 100 countries. It became a symbol of accessibility, robustness and universality. The Renault 5, with its bold design and compact form, won over Europe and beyond, becoming an icon of the 1970s and 1980s.
More recently, the Clio carried on this legacy, becoming the best-selling French car worldwide, with a presence in over 115 countries. These models share a common strength: the ability to adapt to local needs while preserving Renault’s DNA: innovation, accessibility and driving pleasure.
With Boreal, Renault reconnects with this tradition of universality, but in a thoroughly modern form. Where the Renault 4 brought mobility to the masses, Renault Boreal offers connected, comfortable and aspirational mobility, tailored to the needs of emerging middle classes and urban families around the world.
Renault Boreal marks a significant milestone in the Group’s international strategy. Designed to meet the specific expectations of rapidly growing markets, it reflects a clear commitment to development beyond Europe.
