Bursa Plant (OYAK RENAULT)
Established in 1971, the Oyak Renault plant in Bursa is one of the Renault Group's largest production centres, with an annual capacity of 390,000 cars. The Bursa plant, an emblematic Renault Group site, is recognised as one of the group's most efficient. Since July 2023, the site has been home to a new Refactory, pioneering the circular economy in the country.

OYAK HORSE is the only company in Türkiye manufacturing both engines and transmissions for passenger vehicles, backed by more than 56 years of industrial expertise and manufacturing heritage. Operating in Bursa on an 81,000 m² production site with approximately 1,000 employees, the company has the capability to produce one engine and one transmission every 50 seconds. By exporting approximately 75% of its production, OYAK HORSE plays a significant role in representing Türkiye in global automotive markets.

Boreal Starts Production in Turkey
Renault Boreal is accelerating its international expansion with the start of production in Bursa, Turkey. This second production hub represents a new milestone for this C-segment SUV.
Boreal reflects Renault’s ambition to strengthen its international presence and create greater value for its customers, while also supporting the acceleration of electrification through a full hybrid E-Tech powertrain tailored to customer needs.
In this respect, Boreal fully embraces the “car for living” philosophy at the heart of Renault’s new models, following in the footsteps of the brand’s globally iconic vehicles such as Renault 4, Renault 5 and Clio 6.
Our history
Oyak Renault – History and Key Milestones
- 1969: OYAK Renault Automobile Factories Inc. was established through a partnership agreement between OYAK and Renault.
- 1971: The OYAK Renault Factory in Bursa began production and became one of the cornerstones of modern automotive manufacturing in Türkiye.
- 1980s – 1990s: OYAK Renault expanded passenger car and engine production for both domestic and export markets, becoming one of the leading manufacturers in Türkiye’s automotive industry.
- 1998: OYAK Renault became Türkiye’s leading automobile manufacturer in terms of production and export volume and maintained this leadership for many years.
- 2010s: OYAK Renault became a strategic hub within Renault Group’s global production network and one of the main production bases for the Clio model.
- 2018: OYAK Renault reached record levels in both automobile and engine production, becoming one of the most efficient plants within Renault Group. In the same year, a total of 6 million vehicles and 5.5 million engines were produced.
- 2020s: Investments in hybrid and next-generation vehicle technologies accelerated as part of a transformation process focused on electrification, digitalization, and efficiency.
- September 2024: Production of the new Renault Duster started at Oyak Renault.
- 2025: Oyak Renault reached 8 million vehicle production.
- Today: OYAK Renault continues its operations as one of Türkiye’s most important automotive industry and export centers, with a high export ratio, strong supply chain integration, and a qualified workforce.
