Valladolid Montaje Plant

The Valladolid Assembly plant was the first plant built in Spain by Renault in 1953 and has been extensively transformed during its history to remain competitive and adapt to the different vehicles it has produced. Recently, the plant has modernised its facilities for the production of the different versions of the Captur (ICE, PHEV, HEV and LPG) and the production of batteries for different Renault Group E-Tech vehicles (New Captur, Megane and Clio).

News

Eight million vehicles produced at the Valladolid plant

On March 8, the Renault Group plant in Valladolid celebrated the production of its eight millionth vehicle. This is a Captur E-Tech full hybrid for a Spanish customer.

  • 1951: creation of the Fabrication Automobiles SA company (FASA).
  • 1953: 4 CV start of production.
  • 1972: creation of the bodywork plant ; Renault 5 start of production.
  • 1989: Clio I start of production.
  • 1995: bodywork and assembly activities are grouped together into the Assembly plant of Valladolid.
  • 1997: Clio II start of production.
  • 2003: launch of Modus production.
  • 2006: start-up for Clio III production.
  • 2008: inauguration of solar energy facilities.
  • 2011: ZE building dedicated to production of the Twizy inaugurated, production begins in 2012.
  • 2013: the King of Spain, Juan Carlos I inaugurates the Captur’s line.
  • 2015: 500.000th Captur manufactured at Valladolid, Captur exported to China, renamed Kabin.
  • 2017: 1.000.000 Capturs manufactured.
  • 2018: conversion of the plant in preparation for Captur 2.
  • 2020: New Captur, Renault's first Plug-In Hybrid model.
  • 2021: Separation of the Valladolid Bodywork and Assembly plant into two independent units in July. The plant produces all the New Captur's versions: ICE, PHEV, HEV and GPL
  • 2022: 50th anniversary of the assembly plant since its foundation in 1972.
  • 2023: Commercial launch of the Mitsubishi ASX manufactured at the Valladolid plant
