The All-new Renault Captur gets top marks Euro NCAP safety rantings with 5 stars. The urban SUV best-seller proves its worth as category leader for both active and passive safety.
Following in the footsteps of the the All-new Clio last May, the spotlight is now on the the All-new Captur as it receives the highest possible rating from international organization Euro NCAP. Success comes in the wake of changes the European organisation made in 2018 when it reinforced and ramped up test protocols. The perfect score reflects the high level of safety for the All-new Renault Captur passengers (children and adults) and pedestrians alike. The outstanding performance is proof of the effectiveness of the driver assistance systems – the most comprehensive in the category.
Passive security: Benefits of the new CMF-B platform
Thanks to the Alliance's new CMF-B modular platform, the All-new Renault Captur has optimized body and seating structures. Seatbelts have fasteners that provide optimal support, pyrotechnic pretensioners, stress limiters and a five-seat non-closure alert. The All-new Captur comes equipped with a series of 6 airbags. It also offers optimized vision with a 360-degree camera, standard 100% LED front projectors, automatic light ignition, and an electrochromic rear-view mirror.
Active Safety: The All-new Captur watches over its occupants
The All-new Renault Captur also owes its Euro NCAP 5-star rating to its many advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). These include emergency braking assistance (with pedestrian, cyclist, and vehicle recognition), lane centring, speeding alarms with speed-sign recognition, and safe-distance alarms; not to mention adaptive cruise control and the Traffic and Highway Assistant – the first step towards autonomous vehicles.
The full range of ADAS are grouped together in three families: Driving, Parking, and Safety – pillars of the Renault EASY DRIVE certificate. All settings are easily accessible through the user-friendly interface of the the All-new Captur's Renault EASY LINK multimedia system.
