One would think that the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show, starting tomorrow, would bring us back to the core automotive domain. But in Geneva, Groupe Renault will not only be unveiling its latest vehicles, but also enabling consumers to enjoy exciting new connected services from Renault and its partners.

Let’s browse through what’s new and explore what Renault is offering:

With the brand new release of R&Go, Renault’s car-connected multimedia app for small cars (Twingo, Clio, Captur) and light commercial vehicles (Kangoo Express, Master, Trafic), customers will enjoy the complete media, navigation, and real-time car dashboard directly displayed in their smartphone with a new friendly design, and also connect their very own digital ecosystem. Want to use Waze or Google Maps instead of the built-in nav? Just add it up. Want to browse an endless list of Internet radios from Google Music? It’s in there. Want to create shortcuts to favorite smartphone apps? They are just a few clicks away. While being also able,of course, to answer calls or send messages simply and without any distraction - all of this still along with speed meter, eco-driving score, etc. And hey, it also reminds where is the car is parked.

Want to do even more with your smartphone in a Renault’s car? From April onwards, 100% of new cars produced with R-LINK will embark the compatibility with the leading smartphone projection technologies from Google and Apple. While R-LINK Evolution, available in Clio and the new Captur, will support Android Auto, R-LINK 2, available in Megane, Scenic, Talisman, etc will be compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Our clients will benefit of the widest combination ever: onboard R-LINK apps and Google/Apple apps. All integrated onto the car screen – with easy switch from one to the other. The customer has the choice, safely, thanks to voice control straight from the steering wheel.

2017 Groupe Renault Easy Connect application

Many of our advancements and content has been greatly enriched by partnerships that benefit Renault customers.

Take R-Access solution for example: did you know it is being used by leading car sharing and renting platforms? It enables our partners or customers, sharing a Renault car, to deliver lock/unlock capabilities, natively, without the need to install any box under the hood.

2017 Groupe Renault Easy Connect application

TomTom has been an historic partner for Renault: to ensure a Renault’s driver enjoy most of their lead navigation system with R-LINK, we now include with all new cars 3 years’ TomTom Live Traffic, and 3 years European map update. And this is live already for all cars since the beginning of the year: it is simply enough to connect to R-LINK store with a “My Renault” account to download the latest.

Last but not least, we thought about kids and passengers: we will be delivering in-car Wifi Hotspot with our partner Orange, so the whole family can connect, stream and download apps whilst traveling. Right before the summer vacation it will be available in our accessories web store (!/home).

2017 Groupe Renault Easy Connect application

To sum it up, for customers who want a smartphone on their car, or to put information about their car in their smartphone, Renault makes it all more connected, easily, creating a fluid experience to enjoy their preferred apps on all screens.

Come see us at the Renault booth in hall 4 and enjoy all these exciting new capabilities.
