From July 10 to 13, Renault and Alpine took part in the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed. Between heritage celebrations, spectacular demonstrations and technological innovations, Renault Group reaffirmed its historic and strategic commitment to motorsport, a true laboratory for its transformation.
Goodwood Festival of Speed: a global gathering for enthusiasts
Founded in 1993 by the Duke of Richmond, the Goodwood Festival of Speed has become a must-attend event on the international automotive calendar. Every summer, over 250,000 visitors flock to Sussex to witness dynamic demonstrations, discover exceptional vehicles and thrill to the rhythm of the famous hill climb.
As an exceptional showcase, Goodwood helps increase the visibility of Renault Group. This year, with two 500 m² stands for Alpine and Renault, the Group showcased its historic commitment to motorsport to a passionate and international audience, through a rich program blending heritage and future.
Alpine and Renault at Goodwood: two powerful expressions of motorsport
Alpine: 70 years of passion and innovation
For Alpine, Goodwood 2025 marks a milestone: the celebration of its 70th anniversary. True to its performance-driven DNA, the brand gave a dynamic world premiere of the A290 Rallye, its very first electric Alpine designed for customer racing.
Other stars of the stand included the Alpenglow HY6, a 740-horsepower hydrogen-powered demonstrator; the A110 R Ultime, an ultra-exclusive, high-performance limited edition of the A110; and the A390, the latest five-seat electric sports fastback. All of these models took part in runs on the legendary Goodwood Hillclimb, alongside the A523, the 2023 Formula 1 car, driven by BWT Alpine Formula One Team reserve drivers Kush Maini and Paul Aron.
The A110 R Ultime, driven by Laurent Hurgon, made a strong impression with an excellent time of 52.01 seconds during one of the event’s highlights, the Timed Shootout.
Renault: a new electric line-up full of emotion
Renault brought emotion to life for motorsport enthusiasts, both on its stand and on the track. The Renault 5 E-Tech electric took on the legendary Goodwood hill every day, while the Renault 4 E-Tech electric, newly launched in the UK, was showcased to the public on the brand’s booth. Renault also wowed the crowd with the Renault 5 Turbo 3E Prototype on the track, along with its production version, the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, on display.
A standout moment came with the iconic Renault 5 Maxi Turbo driven by rally legend Jean Ragnotti, which made a memorable appearance on the hill climb.
The Originals Renault - La collection also presented three historic Formula 1 cars: the RS10 (1978) driven by Jean-Pierre Jabouille, the RE40 (1983) by Alain Prost and the B195 (1995) by Michael Schumacher, showcasing a unique motorsport heritage that the Group keeps alive through major events. A fun anecdote: the first two cars were driven at Goodwood by the sons of the original champions, Victor Jabouille and Nicolas Prost.
Motorsport: a driver of innovation for Renault Group
For over 115 years, motorsport has been embedded in Renault Group’s DNA. As early as 1902, Renault was entering its cars in competition, turning the racetrack into a true laboratory for innovation. Today, Alpine is one of the few car manufacturers (alongside Ferrari and Aston Martin) competing in both of motorsport’s premier world championships: Formula 1 and Endurance racing. Dacia takes part in the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) with the Sandrider and both Renault and Alpine continue to organize customer racing programs on track and in rallying.
The dual presence of Alpine and Renault at the Goodwood Festival of Speed reflects the Group’s ambition to make motorsport both a driver of technological transformation and a lever for brand influence. In doing so, Renault Group boosts the visibility of its brands, showcases its expertise and appeals to new generations drawn to innovation and performance. Finally, this commitment fosters employee pride and embodies values such as boldness, emotion, and passion, all perfectly illustrated by Goodwood.

By taking part in this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, Renault Group didn’t just showcase cars: it told a story. A story of a living motorsport legacy, of bold transformation and of an enduring passion for performance. Alpine and Renault represented two faces of the same commitment: to make motorsport a driver of innovation, emotion and global impact.
