Kangoo Z.E. Hydrogen and Master Z.E. Hydrogen are two battery-powered electric vehicles, also equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell system (“StackPack”) developed by Symbio, a joint venture formed by Faurecia and Michelin. These models meet the new environmental challenges of professional urban mobility by offering, in addition to their electric engines, increased autonomy, fast hydrogen recharging and easy maintenance.

Engine

These two models are equipped with the same electric motor as their traditional Z.E. version, i.e. a 44 kW (60 hp) and 57 kw (76 hp) motor respectively associated with a 33 kWh useful battery. The 5 kWh fuel cell is powered by a 74-liter tank of hydrogen stored at 350 or 700 bars for Kangoo and two 53-liter tanks of hydrogen stored at 700 bars for Master.

Autonomy

The fuel cell is used as a range extender when the battery is partially discharged. This technology extends the range of Kangoo Z.E. Hydrogen and Master Z.E. Hydrogen to approximately 350 and 320 km respectively (WLTP combined cycle in the process of being approved), compared to 230 km and 130 km in the traditional Z.E. version.

Recharge

Refilling the hydrogen tank requires less than 3 minutes of handling from a compatible filling station. The battery can also be recharged from an electrical outlet via a cable with a power of 7 kW.

Loading capacity

With a cargo volume of 3.9 m3 (the hydrogen tank occupies about 100 liters in the cargo space) despite an overweight of 110 kg, Kangoo Z.E. Hydrogen offers a payload of 540 kg. Master Z.E. Hydrogen gains in versatility without constraining the cargo volume from 10.8 m3 to 20 m3 and this, with a reasonable overweight of 200 kg.

Versatility

All these advantages make Kangoo Z.E. Hydrogen and Master Z.E. Hydrogen particularly adapted to the requirements and intensive uses of professionals in large conurbations and even on the outskirts of cities: transport and logistics, municipal and local government services, express or special courier services, etc.
