Renault Group in France:
more than you can imagine
Published on

Renault Group and France, it’s a 128-year story. Nearly a century and a half together going through the same industrial, economic and social upheavals.

Five years ago, when we had to get the band back on its feet, we could have done like many others: produce elsewhere. We made the opposite choice. Bet on France, on our factories, our know-how, our suppliers and demonstrate that we can manufacture in France attractive and high-tech cars by being competitive.

That bold choice has paid off. Reinventing and transforming our French sites has proved to be a triple win: for decarbonization, competitiveness, and sovereignty in critical technologies. This is what makes the Renault Group the last major French car manufacturer and a key player for all of European automotive, at a time when the sector is being ‘shaken up’ as never before.

And tomorrow? With futuREady, the group’s new strategic plan, we will invest an additional 13 billion euros in France by 2030. And we are also working to improve competitiveness, one of the conditions for this long-term commitment.
But a company is not just about numbers

When we think of the automotive industry, we often picture factories or products. True enough. But do we really know what it's made of? The jobs that sustain a region, the generations that follow one another on production sites, the hands that manufacture, the gestures that are passed on. And everything that happens beyond the factory walls: suppliers, logistics.

This is precisely what we want to tell. Today, we are publishing a brochure that brings together, in figures and images, what the presence of Renault Group in France truly represents: industry and employment, of course, but also the training of our teams, the quality requirement that is our signature, the local partners who work with us or even the more solidarity-based initiatives that we carry out near you.
Our conviction is simple: we do not settle in a country, we commit to it. And we choose to demonstrate this commitment in France.
