Renault Group, complementary businesses to make electric mobility accessible to all

The 2025 edition of the Barcelona Auto Show aims to bring electric vehicles (EVs) closer to consumers. It highlights the sector's shift towards a more sustainable, connected, and secure mobility, placing user needs at the center of its considerations.

In this context, perfectly aligned with its own values, Renault Group showcases its commitment to electromobility, recognized as the fastest and most efficient way to decarbonize the automotive industry. This strategy, relying on the collective strength of its entities present at the show (Ampere, Renault, and Mobilize), ensures that sustainable mobility ceases to be an abstract promise and becomes a tangible reality.

At Automobile Barcelona, these efforts are highlighted in the partnership between Renault Group and energy provider Iberdrola. Users will be able to enjoy a unique offer including the purchase of a 100% electric vehicle from one of the group's brands (Renault, Dacia, or Alpine), 10,000 km of domestic charging included per year for three years (30,000 km in total), the installation of a Mobilize charger at home, competitive financing, and an electricity supply contract with Iberdrola.

Ampere: A complete ecosystem for electromobility

Created in 2023, Ampere has established itself as the technological player serving the Group. It relies on a workforce of 11,000 people dedicated to electromobility and software, who develop new technologies to reduce costs while promoting energy efficiency.

By partnering with key players such as Google and Qualcomm, Ampere has acquired unparalleled expertise in software, making life in EVs easy and affordable. This is particularly true with the SDV (Software Defined Vehicle), which refers to the ability to evolve a car throughout its life, thanks to a centralized architecture, by updating it and installing new applications to enhance its features remotely ('over the air'). One of the most significant transformations in the automotive industry! The next vehicles resulting from this technological revolution will be Estafette, Goélette, and Trafic in 2026.

Ampere also develops dedicated platforms for intelligent electric vehicles, giving it a significant cost advantage compared to hybrid solutions. The AmpR Small (B segment) and AmpR Medium (C segment) platforms allow most costs to be shared between ranges, providing a clear competitive advantage.

Finally, to increase the autonomy of an electric vehicle without making it heavier, Ampere optimizes the efficiency of batteries and powertrains. These innovations will allow Renault Group to reduce battery costs by about 20% on its vehicles from early 2026.
