Renault, the next gen
"voitures à vivre"

The world's best-selling French car brand, Renault has been meeting its customers' mobility needs for over 125 years. A pioneer in the creation of "voitures à vivre," the brand designs popular avant-garde vehicles, making cutting-edge technologies accessible to everyone. As part of its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint, Renault has developed a two-pronged range of electric and hybrid vehicles allowing everyone to move towards the energy transition at their own pace.

01

Next-gen voitures à vivre for everyone

Renault designs models that are in tune with customer needs and the challenges of today. For instance, the Ingenius rear armrest in Scénic E-Tech Electric and Rafale creates a true relaxation space in the back, featuring a screen holder, cup holders, and USB-C ports. The sliding rear bench in Captur and Austral redefines interior space, while the 7-seat configurations in Kangoo and Espace offer uncompromising flexibility. At Renault, technology is designed to be human and accessible, while ensuring top-level safety through innovative systems that facilitate emergency response in the event of an accident.

Making the best technologies available to everyone

To tangibly enhance comfort, safety, and the onboard experience, Renault offers intuitive and practical technologies. The OpenR Link multimedia system with integrated Google simplifies navigation and provides connected services for daily use, while the Solarbay opacifying glass roof automatically adjusts brightness for optimal comfort. Electric models like Renault 5 E-Tech Electric play a key role in the energy transition with technologies like V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid), which allows energy to be fed back to the home or the electrical grid.

Two complementary technologies

Renault, a pioneer in electric vehicles, offers a dual range of electrified powertrains, including full hybrid and 100% electric options, suited for all types of use. Each range is built on platforms specifically developed to maximize the performance of each technology. For example, E-Tech Hybrid models like Clio, Captur, and Arkana (on the CMF-B platform), as well as Austral, Espace, and Rafale (on the CMF-CD platform), offer great versatility. Renault 5, Renault 4 (on the AmpR Small platform), along with Mégane and Scénic (on the AmpR Medium platform), represent the new generation of electric models born from the Renaulution.

04

Sustainable development at the core of our strategy

Renault’s sustainable development strategy is based on decarbonizing the entire vehicle lifecycle, from design to end-of-life (« from cradle to grave »). This involves optimizing models in terms of size and weight for greater efficiency and resource savings, as well as maximizing the use of recycled and recyclable materials. Electric vehicle production is being relocated to France, with 75% of the suppliers for the ElectriCity hub (Douai, Maubeuge, Ruitz) located within 300 km, promoting short supply chains.

Between 2023 and 2027, the brand plans to invest €3 billion to launch eight new models outside Europe, including five on the C and D segments. Its ambition is for hybrids and electric models to make up one in every three vehicles sold outside Europe by 2027.

06

“Renault is implementing a dual-action strategy, with an E-Tech hybrid range and an E-Tech electric range. At the same time, it is pursuing a collaborative approach between the brands, the Group, Ampere, Mobilize and their partners. Building on useful technologies that are available to everybody, Renault is able to develop vehicles that are both energy efficient and a pleasure to drive. A range of voitures à vivre that reconnect the brand with its customers. »
