Who we are? 01

Purpose and Creation

Caremakers Invest aligns fully with Renault Group's sustainable development strategy, rooted in the company's Purpose.

Established in 2012 and accredited as a Social Solidarity Economy Company (ESUS), Caremakers Invest is an investment firm dedicated to social entrepreneurship. Since 2015, it has been supported by employee savings to enable staff to give more purpose to their savings and involve them more extensively in supported social entrepreneurship projects.

Caremakers Invest invests in companies in France and internationally (associations, cooperative societies, etc.) that develop mobility solutions to combat exclusion and promote the employment of individuals facing challenges. The objective is to support social innovation projects. 

 

Governance

Within its governance, Caremakers Invest brings together leaders representing various businesses and professions within Renault Group, a representative from the workforce, and independent experts specializing in social entrepreneurship and venture capital.

Project Selection Criteria

  • Activity Domain: Mobility for individuals facing economic or physical vulnerability & social inclusion through employment related to mobility
  • Legal Structure: All types of enterprises
  • Location: France & international
  • Project Maturity: Mainly projects at the scaling stage, economically viable, and aiming for widespread social impact
  • Financing: Primarily in Debt
  • Commitment Level: €200,000 to €600,000
  • Duration: 5 to 7 years

 

Selection Process

A rigorous and human process:

Solidarity investment is a story of trust, in the economic and social potential of a project, and in the men or women who carry it. We are deeply committed to the dedication of project leaders, the quality of teams, and the rigor of management.

1 - Receipt of the application by email

2 - Exchange with the sustainable development team

3 - Pre-selection in the Dealflow Committee

4 - Presentation to the Management and Investment Committee & meeting with its members*

5 - Final selection in the Management and Investment Committee

6 - Due diligence & pre-agreement

* The Renault Solidarity Investment Company Committee is a governance body made up of representatives of Renault Group's business lines at the highest level and independent experts in social entrepreneurship and venture capital.

 

Support

Renault Group accompanies you!

Beyond financial support, a mentor is assigned from Renault Group's employees. The mentor provides regular guidance and facilitates connections with internal experts: engineers, salespeople, lawyers, financiers, etc. To maximize their social impact, the mentor works with the projects to identify synergies and growth opportunities enabling significant scaling. Renault Group also provides leverage through its international size, reputation, network, and offers visibility and credibility to the supported projects through its commitment.

Description of the impact

According to the survey conducted in France in 2023 by Caremakers Invest, a socially responsible company of Renault Group:

  • 83,000 individuals gained improved access to mobility.
  • Including over 24,000 vulnerable individuals who obtained enhanced access to mobility.
  • Over 350 disabled workers and 550 individuals facing financial difficulties were able to retain or secure employment.
