Valladolid Carrocerias Plant Manufactures its 300,000th Battery
On March 22nd, 2024, the Valladolid Carrocerias plant manufactured its 300,000th battery since production began in June 2019. Today, the plant’s facilities feature an innovative battery line that produces both the BTA 1.0 battery for the Captur E-TECH Hybrid manufactured in Valladolid and the BTA 1.5 battery for hybrid vehicles manufactured in Palencia.
- 1962: creation of the assembly plant, under the name FACSA (Fabrication Carrosseries SA).
- 1995: bodywork and assembly activities are grouped together into the Assembly plant of Valladolid.
- 2017: new Plastic Injection workshop (for Captur tailgate).
- 2019: new painting line for plastic parts, assembly of shields and a new battery workshop to manufacture 100% of the hybrid batteries for vehicles in Valladolid and Palencia.
- 2021: Separation of the Valladolid Bodywork and Assembly plant into two independent units in July 2021.
- 2023: On 20 June, the battery workshop manufactures its 100,000th battery since the launch of production in June 2019.
